Cake Slice Sale/ Fundraiser for World Central Kitchen

No Label at the Table is a lot of things but at our core we are just a small family business. Over the break, we watched news footage of the fires in Australia and heard about a serious earthquake in Puerto Rico. One of our families is from Australia and were home in Australia during the holidays. We sent messages and knew their family was safe, and not in the path of fires. When we got back to the store, some of our favorite customers; the Lugo family from Puerto Rico, let us know earthquakes were still happening daily. Their family members and the residents in the southwestern area have been sleeping in the streets. Puerto Rico has had over 1000 earthquakes plus aftershocks daily for over 3 weeks with no end in sight.
We asked what we could do. Both families said pray but, we felt moved to do more. We are food people. Whether it’s a celebration or a crisis, we are the type people to be there with a casserole or cookie. The Lugo family stated WCK was serving hot plates of food.
So, on February 8th we are selling cake slice to raise funds for World Central kitchen. Who are currently working in both Puerto Rico And Australia https://wck.org/
World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef José Andrés, the organization prepared food in Haiti following its devastating earthquake. Its method of operations is to be a first responder and then to collaborate and galvanize solutions with local chefs to solve the problem of hunger, immediately following a disaster.
